Principals News

Last Sunday, my local Priest, Fr Stephen, spoke about being told about the Ascension when he was seven by his sister. Still to this day, he remembers that time in South Sudan and how he then tried to Ascend into heaven. He made the point, storytelling to children is so important. They can create memories that inspire the imagination. What stories could you tell your children?

Kaboom Sports

The Kaboom Sports event was a big success with great feedback from students and staff. There were so many smiles on kids faces and more importantly, we saw students persist with some challenging tasks. This takes courage to keep trying something, even when we experience failure, however, we also must ensure that we don’t hide away from challenges.

State Government Budget

I was extremely disappointed to see that many of our families will miss out on the $400 payment that families in state schools will receive. I will be writing to our local MP, Gabrille Williams to express my concern, but also to invite her to see what a wonderful school we have here at Holy Family. I am hoping that Gabrielle’s beliefs expressed on her website, ‘wanting to ensure her community has access to first class educational facilities and education pathways that are connected to secure employment opportunities’, will lead to her advocating for all of our families to receive this benefit, just as many extremely affluent families will be.

As a priority, all families with a Health Care Card must register it with the school. These families will receive the payment.

We at Holy Family, continue to ensure our families are locked after. We now cater for:

  • Breakfast Club
  • Provide Sandwiches
  • Provide Class materials
  • Include Incursions and Excursions

All whilst having the most affordable fees of all Catholic Schools and for a fraction of the cost that families pay for Childcare or and Private Education. If any families need assistance with fees, please come and speak with me.

Mother’s Day Art Show

Thanks to all the families who attended the art show and afternoon team. It was wonderful to see so many families. My thanks to Glenis for her organisational work, and all the teachers for prioritising the arts to showcase. All of the Art is still up to view, so for anyone that hasn’t come through, you are more than welcome to come in at drop off or pick up time.

School Closure

A reminder that our school will be closed on Friday 7th June for a Professional learning day. The staff will be working with a leading psychologist in order to understand and address the rising rates of anxiety within Primary Schools. The school will be closed on the 10th of June for the King’s Birthday.

Our school term concludes on the 28th June at 3:25pm.
