Mother's Day Morning
We were delighted to host over 750 mothers, carers, students and staff from both campuses at our Mother’s and Carers Morning. It was a great success, with
earlier than ever arrivals for mother and son photos, an inspiring speech from Kamila, President of Parents and Friends Committee, and wonderful feedback on the opportunity to socialise with other parents. The music students were thrilled to perform for such a large and appreciative crowd.
The core focus of the Parents and Friends Committee is to create an inclusive environment and sense of belonging and unity between our College and our parents. This event had significant impact toward this goal by expanding capacity to accommodate an additional 250 people, and offering all student year levels the opportunity to join in.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event. We look forward to incorporating your feedback for our upcoming events.

The Finian Foundation Appeal 2024
Friday 14 June, 12pm
Mark your calendars for this important date that will bear witness to our College Community's celebrated generosity and endeavour. The Finian Foundation Appeal hopes to raise $50,000 in 24hrs to provide vital education assistance grants to current College families in urgent financial need.
Donations are the lifeblood of our cause, fuelling our ability to make a tangible difference in the lives of our students and their families. With every contribution you're giving hope, opportunity, and a brighter future to those who need it most.
The Finian Foundation is built on the belief that our power comes from our community. We're on a mission to uplift a significant number of St Bede's College families facing extremely tough economic hardship, and we need your support to make it happen!
Established in 2005 in honour of Brother Finian Allman who dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the cause, these grants are given to worthwhile applicants from diverse backgrounds. Last year we had our largest number of applications ever, with 57 families in desperate need of support to get their sons through school.
With generous donations from our community, The Finian Foundation provided assistance to 17 of these families in 2023. Our student recipients have sent heartfelt messages to the Community for your support.
"Anything that makes Mum happier and supports her throughout the loss of Dad is a great help. I am very proud to call myself a Beda Boy, and I will not take this generosity lightly."
"The grant has made a significant impact on my life, allowing me to attend school without stress."
"I thank God that there are people out there who can help my family and my mum. Thanks so much."
"This scholarship will help me continue to achieve and encourage my curious mind to always strive for excellence."
Set a reminder on your phone for 12pm on 14 June and help us achieve something we have never done before - raising $50,000 in 24 hours!

Celebration of the Generations
Throughout the last 85 years, St Bede’s College Old Collegians Association has seen generations of families come through our bustling halls to receive a well-rounded education. From great-grandparents to fathers and sons, St Bede’s College is proud to be a part of each family’s journey.
This year, over 46 families have been invited to celebrate this incredible milestone. In the last two weeks, all Year 7 students who are second, third, or fourth generation of the College have been invited to attend our Celebration of the Generations event with their families.
The event in September will include a light breakfast and a short presentation where each student will receive a special commemorative pin and certificate. We would like to make a special mention of the Hahn, Jamison, Kett/Larkins, and Terrell/Libbis families who are celebrating their third and fourth generations with us this year.
This is a highlight event and we very much look forward to celebrating with all involved.
If you have a child in Year 7 who is a second, third, or fourth generation student and you've not yet received an invitation, please get in touch with us.

Sponsor Shout Out
We're thrilled to announce the return of major sponsor, Community Bank Parkdale to the Finian Foundation Golf Day 2024.Their team plays a huge role in the event and the funds raised to support families in need. The values we share are what makes Community Bank Parkdale such a perfect fit for St Bede's College and the Finian Foundation, and it's easy to see why:
- Community Bank Parkdale gives up to 80% of profits back to the community. We aim to develop long-term prosperity by supporting programs that help empower local individuals and groups within the local community.
- Their community investment through grants, sponsorships and scholarships help create a resilient, sustainable and thriving community.
- Every time you bank with Community Bank Parkdale, it provides another opportunity to donate funds to the Finian Foundation, helping our students in need.
Who you bank with can truly make a difference!
Many years ago, Parkdale had its one and only bank close down. To have a thriving main street of shops, a local bank was essential. The local community of Parkdale came together and requested that Bendigo Bank open a branch on Como Parade. This branch was opened in November 1999, saving all the local businesses from likely closure. Since Bendigo Bank introduced Community Bank to Parkdale, over $2 million has been given back to local community groups and charities, including St Bede’s own Finian Foundation.
Thank you Community Bank Parkdale, for your continued support.
