 Term 2 on the fly

June already.....

Winter in Niangala is an invigorating experience! It is cold today with many of us rugging up against the cold but the rains have been very welcome. The cold weather and rains provided a good opportunity to sit by the fire and write some school reports!

We seem to have been hit pretty hard with winter woes this past couple of weeks with quite a few students and staff having to stay home with illness. Fingers crossed everyone has had their winter bout of sickness and will be fighting fit for the rest of the year!!

Just a gentle reminder that it is a legal requirement for you to communicate with the school to let us know that your child will be absent and the reason for the absence.

Preference 1: If you know that your child is going to be absent from school then please complete an exemption form and return to the school.  If approved by the Principal then you will be provided with an exemption certificate which you can show to authorities if requested.

Preference 2: If you know that your child will be not attending school in upcoming days or requiring a partial absence (for planned appointments etc) early communication of this is much appreciated as it sometimes allows us to plan around these absences.

Preference 3: If your child is ill and unable to attend school, please contact the school by phone by 10am that day.

Preference 4: If your child is ill and you don't contact the school, we shall call you to discuss the reason for your child's absence.

Preference 5: A follow up letter or email will be sent home to ask the reason for your child's absence.

We thank everyone for their assistance with this process as it is highly regulated by the Department of Education and more importantly a important factor in keeping our students safe.

Stay warm.

Kind regards,

Hannah Crawford
