Albini Storm Home to Win the House Swimming Carnival
Congratulations to Albini for winning the 2025 House Swimming Carnival!
Well done to all who participated and thank you to the students and staff that helped with the planning and running of the event. Thank you also to the members of the Mazenod community who came to watch and support the boys in the pool.
It was one of the closest finishes in Mazenod carnival history with less than 100 points (around two relay wins) separating Albini in 1st and Gavin in 5th. This was after six year group carnivals and 196 races across the two days in the pool.
Final standings below:
Congratulations to the following students who broke individual swimming records - one of which was set and standing since 1983!
Congratulations also to: Y11 Cebula 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team & the Y12 Albini 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team who broke team event records.
The Champion Boy and Runner Up Champion will be announced once the results have been closely checked and compared across all divisions. The ACC Interschool Preliminary Team has been posted on the gym notice board. Good luck to the team as they train in preparation for the ACC 'A Division' Carnival later in the term. Any queries about results or any students who wish to trial for the ACC team, but were not selected in the preliminary team, are asked to contact Mr Grabski.
Tennis Championships:
The Mazenod Tennis Championships were held over a couple of afternoons recently, with the finals played on Wednesday. We were fortunate to have perfect tennis conditions and with a fantastic standard of tennis everyone enjoyed a great tournament.
There were 21 entrants overall, with students from Years 7-9 playing for the title of the Junior Tennis Champion and Years 10-12 the Senior Champion.
Junior Tennis Champion for 2025 went to Oheneba B!
After going undefeated throughout the tournament Ryder L was named Senior Tennis Champion for 2025.
Congratulations to Oheneba and Ryder on your successes. Well done to all the players who played a high standard of tennis and displayed good sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
