Ringwood District Swimming Carnival

In Week 2 of Term 1, our school hosted its annual Swimming Trials at Aquanation, giving students the chance to qualify for District Swimming. To be eligible for the event, swimmers had to meet specific qualifying times in various swimming events.

On Thursday, 27th February, a team of 21 swimmers represented our school at the Ringwood District Swimming Carnival, held at Tintern Swimming Pool. The Ringwood District consists of eight local schools, both government and private, including Tintern Grammar, Tinternvale, Warranwood, Dorset, Sacred Heart, Holy Spirit, and Ringwood North.

Competing against some exceptional swimmers from across the district, our P.O.P.S. Swimming team showed incredible effort, sportsmanship, and determination. We are immensely proud of the students' achievements, especially the way they embodied our school values throughout the day. While we saw some excellent individual and relay performances, only the top two swimmers from each heat (1st and 2nd place overall) advanced to Division Swimming.

Maroondah/Manningham Division Swimming Carnival

After a quick turnaround from the District carnival, our talented swimmers had the chance to compete at the Maroondah/Manningham Division Swimming Carnival. The event took place on Monday 3rd March, at Aquanation in Ringwood, with 10 of our swimmers representing our school against some of the best in the area.

The Maroondah and Manningham Divisions include over 50 schools, both public and private, making the competition fierce and highly competitive. Despite the pressure, our swimmers performed admirably, showcasing not only their skill but their dedication and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to all our Division swimmers who competed on Monday! It was a fantastic day of effort, sportsmanship, and determination. A special shout-out to Beatrix C, who placed 2nd in the 9/10-year-old Girls Breaststroke event. Beatrix will now go on to compete at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Swimming Carnival — a huge achievement! We wish her all the best and know she will continue to shine in the upcoming competition.

I am incredibly proud of all the students for their determination, enthusiasm, and achievements throughout the swimming season. Their hard work and dedication were truly inspiring.

A big thank you to the wonderful parents who supported their children at both the District and Division Swimming events. Your encouragement means the world to these swimmers.

Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to Mrs Louise Stevenson and Mrs Susan Chow, who assisted with our school swimming trials, as well as at the District and Division Swimming Carnivals. Your help and dedication are deeply appreciated.

Thank-you!
