What's On At Seedlings

This term, the children have been really excited about cooking and asked if we could make some delicious food! We started by making lemonade scones, which gave the children a chance to practice measuring ingredients, mixing and following a recipe step-by-step. Everyone had fun adding jam and cream to their delicious treats.
To kick off our Chinese cooking sessions, Miss Alice taught us how to make jiao zi - dumplings, which was a great opportunity for the children to learn about different cultures and develop fine motor skills by folding and sealing the dumplings.
It's been a wonderful way for the children to practice essential skills like measuring, following directions, and working together. The children also had the chance to try using kuai zi – chopsticks.
After enjoying our dumplings, we walked up through the school and showed the children how zucchinis grow in the school kitchen garden. This sparked their curiosity as they looked around at all the Alexander Kitchen Garden and asked if we can start growing cherry tomatoes at kinder in the future!
A big thank you to our parent helpers this term for their support and assistance in making these cooking experiences so enjoyable and educational for everyone!
