Principal's Message

Good morning, Parents/Carers,

We have had a fantastic start to 2026 with all students being ready, respectful and safe.

Welcome back BBQ

We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our families tomorrow for our Welcome Back BBQ and Information Evening.  Come along and enjoy a sausage sandwich on us and meet your child's classroom teacher for 2026. The evening will commence at 5:00pm.

Quirindi Zone Swimming Carnival

Those students who have made it through to the next level of competition have been advised and received a permission note to compete at the Quirindi Zone Swimming Carnival on Tuesday, 25th February at the new Quirindi Aquatic Centre.  (Back up date Wednesday, 26th February).  Could you please ensure that permission notes and money are returned to the school office by tomorrow Wednesday, 18th February.

Opportunity Class Yr 5 and Selective High School Applications 

Time is running out to apply for an Opportunity Class or Selective High School in 2027.  Applications will close this Friday, 20th February 2026.  For more information, please go to the Education Department's Website: education.nsw.gov.au Selection testing will be held on Friday, 1st May 2026.

Media Permissions

At the beginning of each year, we send out a Permissions note that covers such permissions for Media (Social and News Coverage) & Walking Excursions.  It is a requirement we have this note signed and returned to ensure that your wishes are respected and acknowledged.  To date we still have a number that have not been returned.  If you have not returned this note, could you please do so as soon as possible.  If you require a note, please contact the school office.

Turn Up Awards

We will again be running the Turn Up Awards this year.  The "Turn Up" award was introduced last year to encourage our students to attend school every day.  Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a paddle pop voucher.  A voucher will be issued each week to each class.  If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries.  If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries.  Congratulations to our winners for Week 2:

Colour Run

It is great to see so many students registered for this year's colour run.  We will be holding the Colour Run on Friday, 13th March. Information to register has been sent home and fundraising is now open and will conclude on the day of the Colour Run.  If you did not receive information to register, please contact our school office for details.  This event is always a success and a lot of fun. We look forward to holding it again this year.

P&C Annual General Meeting

The P&C AGM was held last night at the Werris Creek Sports Club at 5:30pm. All positions were declared vacant and a new committee formed. Congratulations to the following office bearers:

The next Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 9th March 2025 at the Werris Creek Sports Club at 5:30pm in the Engine Room.  We welcome new members and encourage all to attend.  Joining your school P&C is a great way to contribute to the school community and raise funds to assist our students in providing support for excursions and extracurricular activities.

School Canteen - "The Snack Shack"

Our school canteen is currently closed as we require volunteers to run the canteen.  If you would like to assist in our school canteen or know of anyone in the community who would like to help out, please contact Jim Galbraith on 0452 245 899 or call the school office on 6768 7065.

White Cross Dental

White Cross Dental will again be visiting our school tomorrow, Wednesday, 18th February. This is a great initiative in ensuring our children receive preventative treatment, early detection and information on oral hygiene. Forms to participate in this program were sent home last week.  Please ensure forms are returned to our office by this afternoon to participate in the program.
