ICAS All-Stars Academic Competition

On Friday the school received a letter introducing the inaugural ICAS All-Stars academic competition. A new initiative designed to bring academic recognition to a level of prestige comparable to the state championships in athletics.

This event recognises the top state academic achievers, giving students a platform to showcase their skills and gain recognition at a more competitive level.

Students are invited to participate based on their outstanding performance in the ICAS 2024 academic competition. Each assessment draws from the top three ICAS subjects English, Mathematics and Science, as well as other non-ICAS subject areas such as reasoning, general knowledge, or digital literacy.

I am pleased to announce that Charlton College had four students invited to participate. Tom from Year 5, and from Year 9, James Fitzpatrick, Heidi Start and Leigh Van Boven. Congratulations to these students.

Behaviour Matrix

Our focus this week and next is on resilience. As we begin to tire near the end of the year it is important that we remain resilient, by keeping on trying and try to solve digital issues in a calm and logical way.

PV E-Conference 2024

Calmer community + calmer children = calmer classrooms!

Anxiety and stress can make it difficult to establish and maintain quality relationships. Those relationships are vital for families, communities and schools to function. We know that parents, teachers and students alike are experiencing and managing life pressures and challenges at any point in time. Young eyes are always watching how we act and react how we role model impacts and influences how children and young people interact and behave at school. Some practical tips and support strategies can assist all of us on how to deal with anxiety and stress. We need everyone to be at their best. That’s why we’re bringing in Dr Jodi Richardson for our 2024 E-Conference.

Who is the E-Conference for?

  • Parents and carers
  • Teachers
  • School wellbeing staff
  • Anyone with an interest or connection to education/children and young people

The E-Conference is free and open to all (registration is essential).
