Senior Choir Christmas Carols at Oak Tree Retirement Village
Every year since Year 4 we have looked forward to going to our annual visit at the local retirement village.
On December 3rd the senior choir (Grade 3 to Grade 6) walked to Oak Tree Hill Retirement Village. We performed six well known Christmas songs to the elderly residence and staff.
'It was lovely to spread the Christmas spirit and joy among them' - Sumayya & Emily 6TJ
'As we walked to the retirement village, the past few annual OTH (Oak Tree Hill) performances flashed before our eyes filling us with happy memories as we prepared for our final show.
As we entered the village, the elaborate Christmas decorations made the experience even more festive. Some students stood in awe admiring the decor, others excited to see elderly people from the previous years (especially the purple haired grandma who was so friendly and kind!).
Even though we had performed at Oak Tree before, it was so nerve wracking singing to an audience. Our hearts were beating out of our chests, but as we started to sing and saw the residence faces light up, the lyrics just flew out with ease. There was an emotional aroma of déjà vu in the air especially for us year sixes as this was to be our final choir performance at Oak Tree Hill. Our performance showed just how far we had come with our choir experiences throughout the years.
We love our Christmas visits to Oak Tree Retirement Village.' - Menara and Ellie 6SC
