Year 1’s Eventful Week: Athletics and Dance Fun!

Dear Families,

What an action-packed week it has been for our Year 1 students! The excitement kicked off with Athletics Day, where the children participated in a variety of fun-filled activities. Highlights included the High Hopper Race during the Novelty Events and the exhilarating 400-meter Points Race. A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us and helped make the day a success!

The week continued with an exciting dance incursion, as students got moving with the Footsteps Dance Program. They had a blast learning the 'Butter' routine from a professional dance instructor. This special program will continue every Tuesday for the next three weeks, and we can’t wait to see the children develop their dancing skills!

Next week we are learning... 

Mathematics: Our students will soon begin learning the measurement of time by ordering analog clocks to the hour.

English:students will learn the -ough spelling pattern. They will practice words like "though," "through," and "rough," to enhance their writing and reading.

Religious Education: The students are continuing to learn about the Catholic mission and reflecting on Pope Francis’s message, “Welcome everyone to the banquet.” They will also learn about the orphanage we will be supporting through the Week 8 Walkathon fundraiser.

Auslan: We are learning how to sign sea animals.
