Year Five - Spotlight on Learning
Dear Families,
Welcome to Week Six! We have had a busy week of assessments and learning. Please don't forget if you have any questions about camp, please email eblake@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au
Please note a few additions to the Camp information below. This includes information that a night walk or other activity will take place at Camp Rumbug on the evening of Thursday 5th December, and that community prayer is part of the activities organized at camp. The beach activity has now been confirmed to take place. Children will not need to bring Morning tea or lunch on the first day. The bus company is saying the students will not be back until 5pm on Friday 6th December, so this alteration has been made.
We had a lovely ceremony for Remembrance Day on Monday. All students were respectful and reflective.
This week we also revised our 'U Have the Power' Upstanding against bullying lessons. We have repeated these lessons several times through the year to learn about what bullying is and how to upstand against it.
Mathematics:
In maths we are continuing to learn about capacity, volume and mass.
English:
We are continuing some more assessments and also finishing our persuasive piece about polar bears.
Religious Education:
This week we are learning about Mary and John the Baptist and their role in fulfilling prophets prophecies from the Old Testament.
SEL:
In Social and Emotional Learning, we are continuing out 'Inside Out 2' activities. They will be posted on Seesaw once we are done.
Integrated Studies:
We begin rehearsing this week for our end of year performances. They are looking great so far! Everyone is so engaged and also stepping out of their comfort zone.
