Year 11 Study Camp

Last week, the Year 11s headed over to Alexandra Adventure Resort for their final MECS camp. This was a fabulous time to bond together as a year level through a range of fun activities, as well as prepare for the challenge of Year 12 with wellbeing and study skills sessions. It was a great time of celebrating the year that has been, further developing a sense of community among the group, and gearing up for the final year of schooling next year. Thanks to Amelia Koole for the wonderful job she did of organising and running the camp and to the Year 11 class for being such a delight to share the camp with.

Year 10 Celebration Day

Year 10 celebration day was in 30 degree heat. But though it was hot we had a great time. We began the day at bounce, and spent an hour there. My favourite part of the Bounce excursion was the dodge ball game with the teachers. It was a brutal battle and I can't remember who won, but it was fun nonetheless. At first I thought we would need 4 hours at bounce for us to get tired, however 1 and a half hours proved sufficient. Lunch was spent on a park next to the mini golf course, and everyone found a good space of shade to eat and catch up. The teachers bought hot chips and they were eaten very quickly. Mini golf was a blast, my group sped through the course quicker than I expected, and enjoyed ice-cream once we had finished. I would have won had it not been golf rules, but I was happy with a last place score of under 100. There were two rotations: mini golf and a driving range. We spent the last of the day at the driving range, and some people even made it to 100m, I couldn't quite reach the 50m mark. Altogether it was a great day, and I enjoyed spending it with teachers and friends. I would like to thank Mr Mahoney and all the other teachers that put so much effort into our cohort this year, it has been amazing.

For our last day of school as a Year 10 cohort, we celebrated all together by heading to bounce for the morning. There were a few different areas we had access to, including a dodgeball area and a foam pit. After a good trampoline workout, we headed over to the mini golf park where we ate hot chips for lunch.

Mini golf was such a throwback for me because I haven’t been there in years. It was a very enjoyable afternoon, and we switched between completing the mini golf course, and having a session at the driving range, where we tried our hardest to hit the ball the furthest distance. I’m glad that we were able to have a fun last day to celebrate the end of the year.
