Music

In the last few weeks we have been continuing to expand our knowledge and experience of pitch. 

We had a visit from our piano tuner, Phil Cockeril, and he very kindly spoke with us about the importance of tuning and pitch.

We have also been exploring how pitch can help us to communicate meaning. We have listened to musical themes and matched them with characters. Discussing the different pitches and contours in the music.

 Students have used keyboards and glockenspiels to create sounds that match a movement or action. I was very impressed with the music our students made when they 'added' buttons in a book to make the story come alive.
