"I love a sunburnt country,

A land of sweeping plains...."

Dorothea Mackellar's poem 'My Country' is a powerful and moving expression of the deep love she felt for the land she called home. The students have been looking at our country, our town, our geography for the inquiry unit so I thought it would be great to study this poem along with the Peter Allen's song 'I still call Australia home' and the Qantas ad to reflect on how they feel about Australia while connecting with Dorothea's poem.
