Our Garden Project is Underway!
Our much-anticipated garden project is underway, with Stage One completed over the weekend, bringing beautiful green spaces to the western end of our school. We look forward to Stage Two starting soon on the northern side of our school. Once again, we thank our hardworking fundraising parents for making this transformation a reality!
Remembrance Day Assembly
On Monday, 11th November, our Grade 6 cohort led our Remembrance Day assembly. With flags lowered to half-mast, a wreath laid, and The Last Post echoing through the school, our community gathered to honor those who served. We were privileged to welcome Mr. Phillip Thomas, Treasurer of the Toorak RSL, as our guest speaker. Mr. Thomas, a former Royal Australian Air Force pilot and Cathay Pacific Airways veteran, shared insights on the significance of Remembrance Day. Our students wore their poppies with pride and observed a solemn minute of silence to pay their respects.
Interschool Chess
On November 1st, several of our talented students proudly represented the school at the Chess VIC State Semi-Finals held in Yarra Valley: Telek, Jacob, Jace, Lachlan, and Rupsy. It was a challenging day, filled with intense, timed chess matches against other top-ranking schools. This year, our team achieved an impressive 17th place out of 37 schools! Special congratulations to Jacob and Rupsy for their outstanding individual performances, winning 4 out of 7 and 5 out of 7 games, respectively. We’re excited to grow our team next year, aiming for an even stronger result and a chance at qualifying for the state finals!
New Ipads for our School!
We’re pleased to announce the arrival of 100 new iPads at our school! These devices will be available across all grade levels, further enriching our teaching and learning programs.
Prahan High School Musical Performance
Today, our Grade 6 students enjoyed an exciting performance by the Prahran High School Band! The band played a range of contemporary songs, filling the room with energy. With drums, guitars, talented singers, and booming speakers, it was a lively experience that had everyone entertained. A big thank you to Prahran High School for sharing their musical talents with us!
Grade 3/4 Hooptime
Last Friday, all Grade 3 and 4 students went to MSAC for their Basketball gala day. All students demonstrated excellent teamwork and respect towards all schools. Congratulations to the Grade 4 Girls All-Star Team for reaching the finals, and a big cheer for the Grade 4 Boys All-Star Team for their incredible win in the final! A huge thank you to Stuart Burriss for his dedication in coaching and supporting our teams throughout the day!
Grade 2 Ceres Environment Park
Our Grade 2 students had an excellent time at Ceres Environment Park. They were very interested to learn about different eco systems and habitats. The students were lucky enough to bring seeds home to plant in their own gardens!
Foundation Weather Incursion
Last Thursday, Foundation students had an incredible opportunity to participate in a weather incursion. They explored how clouds form from condensed water vapor, created their own clouds, and made "rain" in a jar. The experience wrapped up with an exciting activity of making a tornado in a bottle!
Foundation CERES Incursion
Foundation students recently visited CERES for an Indigenous Perspectives excursion, where they connected with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. They enjoyed activities such as storytelling, painting, and cultural walks, and even sampled some native Australian bush foods.
