REACH WORKSHOPS - LOCKER ROOM - STUDENT REFLECTION
In our Reach workshop, "Locker Room," all Year 10 boys explored what it truly means to be a man, breaking down the stereotypes and pressures we often feel to fit into unrealisticmoulds. The facilitators created a space where we could be real with each other, allowing us to drop our guard and share personal struggles and stories without judgment.
As we opened up, we found strength in our shared experiences, realizing we weren’t alone in facing these pressures. The workshop didn’t just build confidence; it created a powerful sense of connection and support among us, leaving a lasting impact on each of us.
Hearing personal stories from each of the guys made us realise that everyone carries their own challenges and experiences, even the ones we might not expect. It was eye-opening to see a different, more vulnerable side of our friends, and it reminded us that we’re not alone in what we go through.
By the end, it felt like we’d grown a lot closer, not just as friends but as a group of guys who truly understood and respected each other on a new level.

COLLEGE ART AND TECHNOLOGY EVENING
On Thursday, November 7th, Hazel Glen College hosted the Art and Technology Evening. This was an opportunity to showcase and celebrate all of the fantastic work of our students in the Arts and Technology subjects. It is wonderful to take the time to recognise the hard work and talents of our student community.
Some highlights of the evening included the incredible musical performances, an extensive variety of displays of both Visual and Performing Arts projects as well as fascinating creations from the various technologies. We also were treated to a Sausage Sizzle from the Student Leadership Academy.
Despite the rain, our community engaged in the evening by enjoying all that was on show. A special thank you to all teachers, students and education support staff who were involved in the set up, pack-up and smooth co-ordination of this event.
ADA GALA OLYMPICS COMMUNITY EVENT RECAP
On Tuesday night the Year 10 ADA Students hosted the ADA Olympics for our ADA families and community. The successful event involved students working collaboratively together to plan all aspects of the evening. This process involved organizing and presenting their final plan to the Head of the ADA before inviting the Secondary Years Principal Team and ADA Community to take part in the fun.
The purpose of this event was to continue to enhance the strong ADA culture between teachers, students and families through an engaging and challenging Olympics-themed sports night.
The Year 10 students were tasked with leading their group through each event and cooking the BBQ. ADA parents and students were split up into different teams representing a famous country. Although the weather wasn’t in our favour on the night, it was incredible to see all participants having fun and showcasing their competitive nature (it’s very clear to see where our ADA students get their competitive edge from).
As a part of the post-event celebrations the Head of ADA presented awards including: most Green Chronicles, Rising Star, Most Dedicated Athlete and also the Mr. Palumbo Award.
On behalf of the Year 10 ADA, we would like to thank Ms Sannholm for overseeing the event and supporting us with all our endeavours throughout the year. We would also like to thank Mr. Palumbo for approving the event and for guiding us through the ADA program for all these years. Thank you both for all your hard work and dedication to making ADA such an amazing experience for every student. We will miss the program immensely!
