Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope everybody had a relaxing and enjoyable break with their families. It is an extremely busy 9 week term ahead with Book Week, Write A Book In A Day, the P-2 swimming program and our external school review. A busy, but exciting term to look forward to. Please be sure to look at the dates of events on this newsletter and put them in your diaries.
Lord,
At the beginning of this new term teach us to
Be your hands and feet where we are,
At the beginning of this new term teach us to
Love as you love us,
At the beginning of this new term teach us to
Pray and care for those in need
Amen
Swimming P-2 Program
Our P-2 swimming program commenced today. The children will go every Thursday from the 31st July to 11th September. Due to the requirements of child safe standards, parents volunteering to help with changing at the end of the sessions will be required to produce a Working With Children Check at the school office & complete compliance documents online. This process will only take a couple of minutes.
Prep Enrolment Acceptance Letters
Over the past few weeks we have been working hard to finalise our 2026 Prep enrolments. This week letters will go out to new families only. If you are an existing family with a child starting in Prep next year, please don’t worry, these letters are being finalised and will be sent home in the coming weeks.
Wheels on Wednesday
With the wet season well and truly upon us we will start ‘Wheels on Wednesday’ in Week 4, 13th August. Children are able to bring their roller skates, skateboards or scooters and ride them in the car park during break times each Wednesday for the remainder of the term. Please ensure that they bring a helmet that has been adjusted for them to wear. Please note that the children need to be given permission to participate for the rest of the term. Details will be uploaded on PAM.
Digital Danger Zones
Steph Ward, who is Colac’s community engagement police officer, has organized a special workshop on Sept 3rd called Digital Danger Zones. It is a workshop specifically for parents, providing them with information and strategies around social media use of adolescents. This is an ongoing societal issue that continues to raise major concerns. Please see the flyer on today’s newsletter for information and a QR code to book your free ticket. I strongly encourage as many parents as possible to attend this important event.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
