Year 11 & 12
Mr Tim Hayward
This term marks an incredibly exciting milestone for our St George’s community as we officially begin our journey in our brand-new building at 441 Murray Street. For our Year 12 students, this is an especially momentous start to their final term at St George’s, as they lead the way in this new chapter of our school’s history.
As we transition into a two-campus model, we are asking our Year 12s to continue to lead by example, supporting our younger students as they move between the buildings. Their guidance and leadership will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and positive adjustment for all.
It was a pleasure to mark the beginning of this important term with the distribution of the Year 12 tie — a stunning design created by the Year 12 Leadership Team. This new tradition, which will continue for years to come, symbolises the pride, unity, and legacy of each graduating class.
We look forward to watching our Year 12s embrace every opportunity this term offers, leaving a lasting example for those who will follow in their footsteps.
Year 11, this is a term unlike any other. Not only are we beginning life in our brand-new building at 441 Murray Street, but you are also stepping into a time that will shape your journey as the senior leaders of 2026. The excitement of moving into this new space is matched by the opportunities it brings for you to make your mark on the St George’s story.
Last week, I had the privilege of speaking with you about the leadership positions available for next year’s Student Leadership Team. It was fantastic to see your enthusiasm, especially with the addition of two new roles — Sports Captain and Dance Prefect. The energy in the room made it clear that many of you are ready to take on the challenge of leadership and help drive our school forward.
Whether you choose to apply for a leadership role or not, you each have an important part to play. As we transition into a two-campus model, I encourage you to assist our younger students as they move between buildings. Small acts of guidance and support will make a big difference in helping them feel confident in our new routines.
This is your moment to show initiative, leadership, and care — qualities that will define you as the leaders of tomorrow.
