Mr Tom Dempers
It has been a fantastic start to Semester Two with Year 7 students settling smoothly into the rhythm of school life. They have adapted exceptionally well to the transition into our new building and have enjoyed their daily walking route. From next week, Year 7s will no longer need to use the Walking Bus and will be able to walk in groups to and from both campuses independently. As Nina (Year 7) said, “I love it, it’s really fun and good exercise.”
It was wonderful to see the Year 7 cohort actively participating and cheering each other on at the Interhouse Athletics Carnival. Their enthusiasm and team spirit were evident throughout the day.
Looking ahead, forms for the upcoming Year 7 Silent Disco social have been sent home with students during PCG and via email. Please return these forms promptly and use the attached payment link to secure attendance.
Finally, I encourage all Year 7 students to revisit their Semester One academic reports, identify areas for growth, and have proactive conversations with their teachers. Setting clear goals now will ensure continued success as we move through the rest of the year.
Year 8 students have also embraced Semester Two with great energy and positivity. They have shown maturity and responsibility in enjoying the added freedom of moving between our school buildings while maintaining a high standard of behaviour.
A gentle reminder to all students to uphold uniform expectations: ties should be worn with the top button fastened, and blazers must be worn when arriving and leaving school. These small details reflect pride in both themselves and the school community.
This term promises to be an exciting one. The Year 8 social in the city is in Week 8, offering a fun evening of bowling, games, pizza, and drinks. It is always a highlight on the calendar and an excellent opportunity for students to relax and connect with friends.
We are also looking forward to the Year 8 Wellbeing Day, which will feature activities designed to strengthen year group connections and provide valuable insights to support students’ personal growth. More information will be shared soon, and I encourage everyone to get involved.
Well done to both Year 7 and Year 8 students on a fantastic start to the term. Keep up the excellent work!
