Grade Prep

Fantastic Foundation
Term 3 has been full of engaging learning and growth- we have had a jam packed term so far! We cannot believe that our marvellous Preps are now almost 3/4 of the way through their Prep year. They're learning to write on dotted thirds, and have grown and achieved so much. We cannot wait to see what term four brings for this bunch of wonderful kids!
Please enjoy the photos of our favourite moments so far this term!

100 Days of Prep! We are now 100 days smarter!
Preps enjoyed a day full of fun and educational lessons, a school parade, and lots more- all while they were dressed up as senior citizens!

Student Writing Samples
Maths- Have you seen our undies?
In Maths, the children have been ordering numbers to 20. They completed a fun activity where they designed some underwear, which they all found highly amusing. We heard lots of funny comments, accompanied by squeals of delight as they asked each other, "Have you seen my undies?!" Once their fancy designs were complete, they needed to put their undies in order which involved finding the number before and after.
Book Week Parade
We think the teachers had just as much fun as the students! Thank you parents who put in so much effort for the Prep costumes, they looked brilliant.
Fathers' Day Open Classrooms
We didn’t let the rain and chilly weather stop us as we welcomed Dads, Stepdads, Grandads and lots of other special people to school for the afternoon. It was wonderful to see so many of you join us- the smiles on the kids’ faces said it all!
Science- Let it Nnow
In Science this term, we have been learning about the weather. Part of this learning involved students investigating different weather conditions and temperatures. We enjoyed being serenaded by Michael Bublé's "Let It Snow," as the children experimented with making their own "snow" out of bicarb soda and hair conditioner.
Maths- Measurement & Capacity.
Preps used informal units of measurement to make the longest line they could in three minutes. They then compared the lines other groups made to see whose was longer/shorter/longest/shortest. The cooperation and delegation happening within their groups was impressive to see! Preps also explored the concept of capacity in our sandpit.
