Our Catholic Identity Leaders are taking action to support those in need in our community through a St Vincent de Paul Can Collection.
Families are invited to donate canned goods and place them in the tub located in the school office foyer. All items collected will be donated directly to St Vinnies, where they will be shared with people experiencing hardship.
This initiative is a wonderful example of living out the Catholic Social Teachings of Preferential Option for the Poor and Solidarity, reminding us to walk alongside those in need and share what we can. By contributing, we are being like Jesus—helping and caring for others with love and generosity.
We thank you for your support and encourage students and families to get behind this important initiative. Even the smallest donation will make a big difference.
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
From 1st September to 4th October, Catholics around the world join together to celebrate the Season of Creation — a special time in our Church year to pray for, reflect on, and care for God’s creation. This season concludes on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi (4th October), the patron saint of ecology.
The Season of Creation reminds us of the Catholic Social Teaching of Care for Our Common Home. Pope Francis, in his encyclical Laudato Si’, invites us to see the world as a gift from God — one that we are called to protect and cherish. This season is an opportunity to slow down, notice the beauty of creation, and think about the choices we make each day.
As a school, we encourage families to take time during this season to:
Every small action helps us live out our call to be stewards of God’s creation. Together, we can ensure that future generations also enjoy the beauty and wonder of our world.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” — Psalm 24:1
Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture, formed by the wisdom of Church leaders, and influenced by grassroots movements. It is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world.
The CST principles which inspire our work are:
Our faith calls us to love God and to love our neighbours in every situation, especially our sisters and brothers living in poverty. Following in the footsteps of Christ, we hope to make present in our unjust and broken world, the justice, love and peace of God.
