Hello to all Clayton North Primary families and friends,
We are quickly approaching the end of Term 1 and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for a wonderful first term of 2026.
Clayton North is certainly a very special community to be a part of and I have really enjoyed my first term here.
Term 1 is certainly ending on a high with several exciting events occurring during the final two weeks. This week we have had our Year 5/6 sleepover which was a huge success! We also have our Bollywood incursion that Jenny has sourced as an enriching cultural experience for our students. Thank you to these staff for organising these events for students.
In our final week of Term we have our much anticipated Harmony Day celebration which will be an amazing celebration of cultural diversity and multiculturalism. We are all excited to see the Harmony Day assembly and see the performances that students, families and staff have been working on! We also have our Year 5/6 Go Public event and the Year 3-6 athletics carnival which students are also looking forward to. Thank you to Jenny, Chris, Sean and Precious for your dedicated effort in organising these events.
Between 11th - 23rd March, students in Years 3 and 5 took part in the Australia-wide NAPLAN assessments. The assessments measured key skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy.
NAPLAN provides a snapshot of student learning and helps schools understand how students are progressing in these important areas. It is just one of many ways we assess student achievement.
I wanted to congratulate the students who completed these NAPLAN assessments as they approached these with positivity and gave their personal best. The results for these assessments will be shared with families later in the year.
In 2026, Clayton North Primary will again be involved in the Premiers Reading Challenge.
The Challenge:
encourages the joy of reading
can be tailored to individual needs.
Since the Challenge began in 2005, more than 4.7 million students have read over 66 million books.
The 2026 Challenge theme is ‘Stories to discover. Stories to tell’.
Naomi will be leading the Premiers Reading Challenge at CNPS in 2026 and will provide students and families with further information during the final week of term. We would love for as many people to complete the challenge as possible!
This special event took place on Sunday 22nd March, with a number of our students performing during the festival. Thank you to the staff who were able to attend the event and provided support and encouragement to our students on the day.
Have a wonderful Easter break everyone!
