Report

I hope everyone enjoyed the recent long weekend and had the chance to relax and spend some time with family and friends. As we return to school, we move into the back end of the term, which is always a busy but exciting time. There are plenty of learning opportunities, events and activities ahead, and it’s great to see students continuing to engage so positively in their learning.

Fergie St Landscape

The Fergie St landscaping project is due to be completed next week, and we are excited to see the space come to life. As part of their current PYP unit, our Year 1 students will be planting native flora in the area alongside our Year 6 students, who originally designed the space during a previous PYP unit. This is a wonderful example of students seeing their ideas come to life while also working collaboratively across year levels. We can’t wait to have the space up and running and look forward to seeing our students enjoy and learn within this new environment.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN begins tomorrow for our Year 3 and Year 5 students, starting with the Writing assessment.

The schedule for the week is as follows:

Wednesday 11 March – Writing

Thursday 12 March – Reading

Monday 16 March – Conventions of Language

Tuesday 17 March – Mathematics

All assessments will commence at 9:30am, with additional days scheduled for catch-up assessments if required.

Sports Update

It’s another busy week for sport at our school. District Swimming will take place on Thursday and we would like to wish all of our students competing the very best of luck. We are incredibly proud of what you have already achieved just by making it to this level, and we know you will represent our school with great effort and sportsmanship.

We also have a small number of students representing our school at Division Tennis on Friday. A big thank you to Ben for taking the students along and to both days managing the organisation, we really appreciate your support in making these opportunities possible for our students.

This week also marks the final week of Grade 2 swimming. Thank you to the large number of parents who have supported our teachers by attending each day and helping make the program run smoothly. Opportunities like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of our wonderful parent community.

Have a great week everyone,

Joe
