We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break! As we embark on the second semester, we are excited to continue our journey of learning, growth, and community building. Another great start to the term. It is hard to believe but this is now halfway through the academic year. As we embark on this journey for the second half of the year, I always encourage students to reflect on their progress. 

Last week we had the opportunity to formally induct the Junior and Senior House captains into the student leadership team for 2024 - 2025. The House captains play a pivotal role in encouraging house spirit and create a sense of belonging for all students. We are looking forward to how this new batch of students will take our school further. 

From Week 3 this term, we will no longer use QParents for attendance. All other modes of notification will remain the same. This is in preparation for moving parents onto our new system DayMap. Students are already using DayMap but we will be onboarding parents later this year as well. This platform will allow you to check student attendance, homework, assessments and other elements of your child’s education. QParents will still be used for invoices, excursion permission forms and report cards. 

Subject selection 

After the successful subject selection night, subject selection for Year 8 into 9 and Year 9 into 10 have now opened. Please see below for some key dates for subject selections for Year 8 and 9 students. 

Important Dates for Year 8 and Year 9 Students:

• Monday 15 July - Forms sent to parents via email
• Monday 15 July - One School Subject Selection portal opens
• Friday 16 August - One School Subject Selection portal closes
• Monday 19 August - Completed Subject Selection forms, including parent/caregiver signatures, due to be handed into Junior/Senior Schooling.

Key dates for Year 10 students 

• Friday 19 July - SOBs bookings open 9am for SET P Interview (30 mins, face to face)
• Monday 5 August - SOBs bookings close 5pm
• Week 3 - Subject Selection opens for students on One School (Complete prior to SET P Interview)
• Thursday 15 & 16 August - SET P Interviews
  • Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Term 4 - subjects confirmed
