We have some beautiful independent reading happening in our learning spaces. We had a
wonderful donation from Mr. Cliff who has purchased soccer superstar books for our spaces. These books have caused some of our “non loving readers” to begin to independently read without prompting, and therefore enjoying and looking forward to our reading tasks. We will be on the look out for more!
This week we have started our multiplication group work. We have been working hard, to identify the concepts of multiplication via worded problems, games and pictures. It would be great to see and hear some home discussions around multiplication facts as it is a skill we all need to have!

Our students have been exploring the topic ‘From Seed to Tree’. They will be writing a text to explain the life cycle of a tree and what happens at each stage in its life. Some amazing facts have been discovered and students have been thinking about how they will sequence them. Next week we will begin to write our texts.
Congratulations Grade 5s, this year all students performed well and 88% of students were identified as achieving a ‘strong’ result.

We wanted to congratulate our students, especially our grade 5’s for their wonderful results in NAPLAN spelling. They work hard every day on their spelling rules!

We have been learning about Australia as a democracy and the levels of government. We are currently identifying the levels of government and what their roles and responsibilities are within the local government, our state and

territory and federal governments. Some great group work has been done, with students displaying their knowledge with posters

TEEBALL - This week the Girls Tee Ball team had the opportunity to play at the Woodlands Division Finals! This is a first in Broadmeadows Primary school history. Our team went up against 5 different schools placing 3rd place overall. The girls have worked hard all year to reach this point and we are proud to put our school on the map!!
