Inquiry in Grade 3

This term for Inquiry, the grade 3 students are learning about Forces and Functions. This week the students had lots of fun experimenting with different types of forces. 

These forces included:

• Applied force
• Tension force
• Frictional force
• Air resistance force
• Spring force
• Gravitational force
• Electrical force
• Magnetic force

The students were put into groups and they rotated through each experiment station. The aim of the lesson was for them to understand how different types of forces are applied in the real world. Later, the students identified if the forces were a Contact force or an Action-at-a-Distance force. The grade 3s really enjoyed doing their learning outside the classroom in a fun and engaging way!
