We’re especially looking forward to our Olympics Day, where students will have the chance to showcase their athletic skills and team spirit. Read on to learn more about this and other highlights, and get a glimpse of the incredible experiences our students are having. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our vibrant school community!

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes for Principals' Day. We have an amazing Principal Team and we are all grateful and privileged to lead Epping Views Primary School.

Our year 6s were treated to a performance of Rock of Ages at Mill Park Secondary College yesterday. They were very impressed by the talents of our local secondary school students and had a great day out. Thank you for your generosity Mill Park SC.

Our Preps are 100 days smarter!  We celebrated their achievements of the first 100 days is school. It was great to see everyone dressed up and there were some fantastic ‘100’ projects for everyone to see.

We are very lucky to have two Olympic athletes in our wider Epping Views community. Matthew Temple (Sue’s nephew) and Alexa Leary (Paige’s sister) are both competing for Australia in the pool; read more about their stories and achievements in this newsletter.

Whilst we are on the theme of Olympics..…we have our very own EVPS Olympics day coming up next Friday 9/8. Students will have a chance to compete in a number of events and dress up to represent different countries. This will be an exciting day filled with fun and athleticism.

Having an Olympics Day offers numerous benefits for students. It promotes physical activity and healthy competition, encouraging kids to engage in sports, and it fosters teamwork and cooperation as students work together in various events and support one another. The day also enhances cultural awareness and global perspective by introducing students to the history and values of the Olympic Games. Moreover, it provides a fun, memorable experience that can boost school spirit and build a sense of community among students, teachers, and families.

Finally, there will be an Annual Public Meeting of the School Council on Tuesday 13/8 at 6pm to present the 2023 Annual Report. If you would like to come along, please RVSP by 4pm Friday 9th August - link to RSVP Form. Here is a link to the 2023 Annual Report  that is being presented.

REMINDER: Professional Practice Day 19/8 (pupil free day)

Professional Practice days provide teachers with release from their scheduled duties (all duties which would have been otherwise scheduled, including teaching) to focus on the improved delivery of high quality teaching and learning.

ENROLMENTS

We are now well and truly in the planning phase for 2025 and as such it is important that we have an accurate indication of our student numbers for next year.  If you are one of our existing families and plan on relocating at the end of the year or leaving us for other reasons, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can best support the transition of your child to another school setting.

2025 Prep enrolment applications closed last Friday 26th July. If you or someone you know has submitted an enrolment application, you will soon receive written notification of the enrolment outcome. We will be communicating the Prep transition process with you in the coming weeks.

Kind regards,

Rachel Griffiths, Acting Principal
