From the Principal

It has been a fantastic week as many of us have sat back and celebrated the achievements of the fine athletes representing Australia in Paris. It has also great to see our female athletes leading the way as Grace Brown and Jess Fox both won Gold in their individual events and our swimmers continuing to show the rest of the world how it is done. We have a few really fun activities planned next week to continue the Olympic Spirit. More information about these events is listed below.

Our 5/6 class watched a replay of the awesome 200m Freestyle where Molly O'Callaghan won Gold and Ariarne Titmus won Silver. It was inspiring watching these two athletes battle it out in the pool.

We are so excited for the first ever STM Learning Expo tonight. Teachers have been discussing fun and engaging activities to share with families as we look forward to a memorable evening. The event will start in the hall, and from there, families are welcome to make their way around the school.

Our 4/5/6 students had the wonderful opportunity to attend a premiere showing of Chicago (teenage edition), a musical presented by St Joseph's and Mater Christi. We thank both of these schools for their generosity in allowing all of our seniors to attend this event free of charge. From all accounts, the students really enjoyed the show. Thanks to parent helpers Natalia and Penny for helping today.

On Thursday, August 8th the Catholic Church in Australia celebrate the life of Mary Mackillop. St Mary of the Cross is at this point in time the only Australian Saint. Please see the RE information tab for more information about St Mary Mackillop.

Just a reminder for families that the school will be closed on Friday, August 16th. The teaching staff have a professional learning day in Braybrook.
