Term 3, Week 5

Education in Faith - Christian Meditation

As Miss. Marion mentioned in our last newsletter, we have been learning all about Christian Meditation, and how we can use it in our learning space to feel grounded, centered and closer to God. After recess, we set up our meditation circle and talk about our focus. This week, we've have been thinking about things that make us feel gratitude towards God. We then spend some time in silent meditation, reflecting on our mantra words. It has been a lovely addition to our daily routine.

Inquiry - Someone Else's Shoes

In Inquiry this term, we have been focusing on the ideas of social justice, human dignity and fairness for all of God's children. A big part of our studies has centered on how disabilities can impact peoples lives. Some of our learning activities have included learning how to finger spell in AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language), conducting a Fairness Inspection of the school to check how accessible it is for someone in a wheelchair, and creating some poetry all about rights and dignity.

Parent Teacher Meetings

Just a reminder that Parent Teacher Meeting times are still available for next week. These meetings will be held on Monday the 19th and Thursday the 22nd of August. They are a great opportunity to check in with your child's learning, ask any questions you might have, and celebrate learning successes. Head online to School Interviews to book your time, and if you are having trouble or might need to come on an alternative day, please don't hesitate to send me a message or catch me at the gate!

Seesaw

The Seesaw app is a fantastic tool to keep up to date with everything that is happening in our class. Every week you can expect to see a few posts showing what we are doing in the learning space in some of our lessons and group work. I'm also making a big effort to send home photos of work that students are particularly proud of, as well as little notes of celebration for all of the amazing things that happen regularly in our space, that the students might forget to tell you about when they get home! If you are having trouble viewing Seesaw or need help with the app, please feel free to drop in and see me or send me through an e-mail.
