Principal's Message
This week, we took the opportunity to revisit and reinforce our school expectations, with a focus on refocusing students' attention on their classwork. During our discussions, we emphasised the importance of resilience in our daily lives and reminded our students that school is a place for learning where every child has access to supportive adults who are here to help them.
I'm pleased to share that the students responded brilliantly to this message. Their renewed focus and commitment have led to a fantastic week of learning. It's been wonderful to see the positive outcomes from our discussions, and we are proud of the progress and resilience our students have shown.
Basketball Tournament
We are pleased to share the news about our recent participation in the Cobaw Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. Our school proudly sent two teams to compete against other schools from the region, and what a day it was!
Our teams, composed mainly of students who don't regularly play basketball, showed incredible spirit and determination, playing a total of 8 games throughout the day. Their performance made our school proud.
The boys' team had a fantastic run, securing a win and a draw. Their teamwork and effort were evident in every game they played. The girls' team, despite not clinching a win, came remarkably close on several occasions. Their progress and unity as a team, especially considering the short practice time before the event, exceeded all expectations.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Kylie and Krystal for their dedicated coaching on the day. A special shout-out to Nicole for her exceptional "supercoach" guidance and to Glenn for overseeing the entire day, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
As we celebrate this achievement, we now turn our attention to our final scheduled sporting event for the year: athletics in Bendigo. We look forward to continuing this spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Singing Club
Our Student Wellbeing Officer, Juliarna has wasted no time in starting a singing club for the students, held after lunch every Friday. The first session was jam-packed with enthusiastic students who practised two songs and shared one during the assembly. The club promises to be a fantastic addition to our school's extracurricular activities, offering students a wonderful opportunity to express themselves through music.
Book Week Dress-Up
Bolinda Primary School will be celebrating Book Week from the 19th to the 23rd of August! This year's theme is 'Reading is Magic', and we have a host of exciting activities planned to inspire our students and celebrate the joy of reading.
One of the highlights of the week will be our Book Week parade on Wednesday, August 21st. We invite all students to dress up in their favourite book character costumes and join in the parade straight after the bell.
In addition to the parade, we have some exciting activities planned for the day and classes have already begun to read the shortlisted picture storybooks.
Stay tuned for more details about these activities and other surprises we have in store for Book Week.
