HPV and Pushcart Team News

PUSH CART NEWS

The term has begun in an exciting way with our grade 4 students finding out which team they will be in. Next, they will decide on a team names and logos. The teams will be announced to the school community at the next assembly, Friday August 23rd.

Trainings will step up in frequency and intensity this term as we prepare for the rapidly approaching Maryborough event. This will include fitness sessions, cart training, cart scrutineering and presentation work.

We have also been planning some exciting events and activities, even some that family members can get involved with!

The team is also still on the hunt for a volunteer to help us build a new cart as one is old and heavy. We would love the students to be given the best possible cart to excel and achieve their goals. The school will cover the cost of the materials to build this. Please email or come in and see anyone on the Energy Breakthrough team if you can help or if you have any questions. Thanks!

Here are a few updates about Pushcart Energy Breakthrough events coming up:

·       Monday 12th August: We are having a parent meeting after school to discuss the Pushcart event and provide you with more information leading up to Maryborough.

·       Friday 23rd August: We will be presenting your student with a new certificate for their selection in their individual teams at assembly.

·       A group chat has been set up by one of our mums (thanks Hayley) for all Pushcart parents to make communication easier in terms of training and other important updates.

·       From now on we will be training after school on Thursdays until 4:15pm.

RETURN TO TERM 3 - RAISING THE BAR

We are back for another big term in the HPV team as we ramp up every aspect of our teams preparation. Last time, the team put themselves through their paces at the Bendigo Go Kart track learning race craft and hill climbs. We also completed round 3 of the Victorian HPV series at Sandown.

As we approach the next 10 weeks the team will be taking on more spin class sessions, in trike training, begin writing and preparing for the display presentation, attend the official Test and Tune day as well at a visit to Monash University!

We have started shopping for our new trailer and once again on behalf of the Energy Breakthrough team we want to say a great big thank you to our school community.
