Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,

Welcome back to Term 3! It has been wonderful to see so many of our students return with bright smiles and ready to dive back into their school routines. Their enthusiasm and energy have truly set a positive tone for the term ahead.

Classroom Experience

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure and absolute joy of spending a day in one of our classrooms. This experience was invigorating and reaffirmed my belief that we are on the right path with our teaching and learning initiatives. It was inspiring to see firsthand the dedication of our staff and the progress of our students. I am confident that our ongoing efforts will help each student reach their full potential.

Staffing Changes

As we begin this new term, we must also bid a fond farewell to two of our valued staff members, Fiachra and Abbey. They will be leaving us to embark on new adventures, and while we are sad to see them go, we wish them all the best in their future endeavours. Their contributions have been greatly appreciated, and they will be missed by the entire school community.

Professional Development with STAR

We are excited to share that our school has recently had the privilege of hosting two trainers from the STAR (Strategies for teaching based on Autism research) program. Over the past two weeks, these trainers have provided intensive professional development for our staff. Our staff have participated in a full-day workshop during the holidays, as well as  receiving targeted support with the trainers spending half a day in each classroom. Our leading teachers, who are accredited trainers within the STAR program, will now take on the role of mentoring our staff to ensure that the new skills and strategies are effectively implemented in our classrooms.

Carpark Safety Reminder

A gentle reminder to all parents again: please exercise extreme caution when parking in our parent carpark during morning drop-off and pick-up times. We want to ensure the safety of our students at all times, so please make use of walkways and the zebra crossing to help us maintain a safe environment. Your cooperation is crucial in keeping our school community secure.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Here’s to a successful and productive Term 3!

Warm regards,

Lindy
