Year 1

In Mathematics over the next fortnight , Year 1 will be exploring measurement and they are looking at both formal and informal units of measurement. On Monday and Tuesday the students used pieces of ribbon cut to 1 metre to measure a range of objects in the playground. Using the ribbon they were encouraged to measure and record the length of the objects and explore ways of dividing the ribbon into small pieces to correctly measure the length of smaller objects.
