Principal's Report

Welcome Back

It's been wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of our students as they returned last week to commence Term 4 after a well-deserved break. Term 4 really finishes the year off in a big way with a calendar full of events and activities, with our Grade 2 Sleepover, Prep Excursion, Swimming Program and Grade 6 Graduation being some of the big ones. That is all before we finish the year with our ACPS Christmas Carols evening, which I know Mrs Bailey has already started preparing for. Rest assured that amongst all of the fun the finger will not come off the pulse in the classroom as we prepare all of our students for their progression into 2024. For the adults, we have our Trivia Night tomorrow night as our major fundraising event of the year. More details are on the School Council President's page.

Some of the highlights in the past fortnight have been watching our students compete at the Division Athletics Carnival last week. Each of the students represented the school with distinction and performed outstandingly in a competitive field. A special congratulations to Anna Firth, Grace Baldock and Karlie Van Zyl who have been selected to perform at the EMR carnival next week. Sticking with sport, I spent Wednesday this week with our Grade 5/6 Basketball Teams at our District Round Robin. Both the boys and girls teams came up against very well drilled squads from several schools and displayed talent and determination to match it with each of them. The heart, skill and teamwork of our ACPS teams made for some incredibly close games with some great wins and some narrow losses.

Off the court and onto the dance floor, last Tuesday night our Theatre was transformed into a flurry of colours, music, and pure excitement as we hosted our second School Disco for the year. The energy was high, the atmosphere electrifying and the dance moves outstanding. At times we had students, parents, and teachers all on the dance floor having a blast and a laugh. I extend my sincere gratitude to all the parents and school staff who worked to make this night a success.

Welcome back, and here's to a fantastic Term 4!
