Nurtja Program

The Victorian Desert adventure was an unforgettable experience for nine students who embarked on a four-wheel driving trip to the Big Desert in Wyperfeld National Park near Mildura.

Thanks to Giz A Break’s Sonke, Brad, and Jas, the students had the chance to toboggan down white sand dunes, conquer towering dunes in the four-wheel drives (as passengers), and immerse themselves in everything the Vic Desert had to offer. While exploring the area and enjoying the stunning sunset over the famous Pink Salt Lake, the students learned that salt is quite drying for the skin.

Each day was filled with packing and setting up camp, navigating challenging sandhills and grassland plains, gaining insights into the local flora and wildlife, and most importantly, having an abundance of fun without technology. It was a journey they’ll treasure for a lifetime, brimming with adventure and discovery.
