Thinking Ahead 2024

We are in the process of looking at our students’ enrolments for 2024 at each year level, in readiness for structuring our teaching teams and grades. If you have any intentions to unfortunately leave KVPS, can I please ask that notify the office in writing immediately. This information is vital for the school to budget and plan for staffing in 2024.

I would like to invite parents to put in writing any information about their child/children that they want considered by our staff as they go forming our new 2024 grades. The information you provide should focus on your child’s needs (academic, medical, physical, emotional, or social) and the type of person you feel they would respond best to. Please refrain from identifying specific teacher’s names as it may lead to disappointment for you and your child. We ask for a written request even if you have already verbally communicated this to their current teacher. A new request will also need to be put in place even if you have already put in a request in the past for previous years.

Uniform in Term 4

It has been great to see so many students remaining safe, wearing their navy hats during any outside activities. Teachers on Yard duty will be reminding all students that NO Hat makes for NO Play. Students without a hat will be redirected to remain in a shaded area. KVPS is proud to be a SunSmart school and committed to promoting sun safety. Please ensure you consistently mark your child's uniform with their name for easy identification. Thank you for your support in keeping our students safe in the sun.

Using Supervised Crossings

As the safety of our students is our priority, I would like to emphasise the importance of road safety when it comes to crossing the road. Roads can be dangerous places, and we need your help to ensure that our students are always safe. Please remind your children to always cross the road at supervised points, such as designated crosswalks or with the assistance of crossing guards. They are not to walk through the carpark. The dangers of not following road safety are very real and it only takes a moment for an accident to occur, so let's work together to keep our children safe and make sure they understand the significance of using supervised crossings. Bullying Prevention Program

I am pleased to announce that Ms Magri and Mr P have launched our Bullying Prevention Program. This week half of our seniors, all of our Preps and most of our middle year’s classes had their first session. Our students were very engaged and participated in the discussions, role plays and the learning. Our students learnt about our new Values (CARES- Cooperation, acceptance, respect, engagement, and safety), what is bullying and what to do when you are in an uncomfortable situation. Our slogan is ‘STOP, WALK and TALK’.
