Farewell Mrs Gould

This week, we bid farewell to someone whose presence has not just graced our school but has illuminated the path for us all. Our beloved Melly G is not just saying goodbye to Rochester, but leaving behind a legacy of resilience and inspiration that will forever be cherished.

Mrs Gould has been the embodiment of determination and strength throughout her tenure as our principal. She has faced numerous challenges with a grace that has left us all in awe. From navigating the turbulent waters of remote learning to guiding our school through unforeseen crises, you have shown us what it means to be truly resilient.

In the face of adversity, you have displayed a strength that has allowed our school to emerge stronger and more united. Your determined commitment to our students' success has been an inspiration to us all.

Your dedication to our school, its students, and its staff has been admirable. You have set a standard of excellence that has motivated us all to reach higher, work harder, and dream bigger.

You have been more than just a principal; you have been a mentor, a friend, a source of inexpressible support and a motherly figure to so many. Your door has always been open, your advice invaluable, and your belief in our potential unshakable. You have shown us that leadership is not about position, but about service, and you have served our school with unparalleled devotion during your time here.

We have loved laughing with you, sharing really big moments with your support, and being given the iconic stern look from you when caught doing something we definitely shouldn't have, if you know, you know the look I'm talking about. From those who have been here from the start, we have been able to see you grow, just as you have been there to watch us over the years, it means a lot to have had such a cool principal like you Mrs Gould (sorry Mr. Sanders). Our hearts have been touched, and your impact here truly has been immeasurable.

On behalf of the students at Rochester Secondary, we thank you for your dedication, your kindness, and your enduring belief in all of us and wish you all the best.  May your new adventure be filled with the same motivation, joy, and fulfilment that you have brought to our lives. Farewell, Melly G, and may your future be as bright as the path you have illuminated for us all.
