Mental Health and Wellbeing for Parents

As parents, much of our day is spent caring for others, particularly our children and families. At times, this can feel like riding a rollercoaster as we share in the highs and lows of our children’s experiences, supporting them as they navigate their individual journeys—while continuing on our own.

While this is an important and essential part of parenting, it is equally important to set aside time for ourselves. Prioritising our own wellbeing enables us to remain balanced, resilient, and better equipped to support those around us.

Below is an excellent resource from Beyond Blue. It is called the PACE Wellbeing Action Tool, an acronym for Pause, Act, Connect and Enjoy. It provides a range of example activities for each of the PACE wellbeing areas.
