This Term we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported. Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/yVMnz8NZI9d2u1h2YMo6Pw2
Further information about the NPSS Parent Survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss.
Our teachers are currently in the middle of assessment and report writing for Semester 1, with reports due to go home on Wednesday 1 July. There is a lot of work that goes into this process and it reflects the care our staff put into knowing each student well.
As a school, we place significant value on effort and it is something we look at closely across every report. The highest effort descriptor reads: your child actively participates and engages in most learning activities and always tries to complete and present work to a high standard. That is the standard we are aiming for across the board.
It is worth having a conversation with your child now about where they think they would honestly rate themselves. There is still time in the term for students to lift their effort and approach, and that conversation at home can be a powerful motivator.
Last week a selection of Year 6 students travelled to Coonamble for what was a fantastic camp experience. We are grateful for the warm hospitality shown by Coonamble Public School and the partnership we have built with them continues to be something we value greatly. For our students, it was another opportunity to step beyond the familiar and deepen their understanding of the proud Indigenous culture that is such an important part of Australia's story. A sincere thank you to the team who put this trip together and Ms Holstein, Ms Baroi and Ms Hamid who gave their time to make this experience possible for our students.

We are happy for families using the park area after school for a bit of extra play time after school. To keep everyone safe, children need to be actively supervised by a parent or carer at all times and we ask that families keep to the park area only. Any students without a parent or carer present will be asked to head home. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this.

School Tours provide families with an opportunity to see the school in action and hear about the wide range of opportunities available to our students.
