Harvest

We all had a fabulous day harvesting grapes for our wine this year, the sun was shining and there were smiles all around. Students from OHS joined us in picking 3.2 tonnes of grapes which will be made into Tempranillo Rose wine by Daniel Shaw at Phillip Shaw winery. Mrs Cassie Lloyd provided some entertainment, singing some popular tunes and we all enjoyed a BBQ lunch.

Anson Farm wine is available for purchase at the local Dan Murphy's and BWS stores. All profits come back to the school.

Harmony Day and World Down Syndrome Day

Harmony Day is always the 21st of March and has an ongoing theme 'Everyone Belongs'. It is a celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), 21 March, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

Students and staff wore orange and odd socks to acknowledge and celebrate these two important events. Students enjoyed learning about different cultures through a range of activities, from engaging in arts and crafts to exploring culinary delights through cooking and tasting. See Inside the Classroom for more photos and details.

Junior AECG meeting

Tully represented our school at the meeting on Friday and provided some insightful information and feedback. It was a great opportunity to meet students from other schools. We look forward to attending the next one.

Easter Hat Parade

The Primary Easter hat parade and the Easter egg hunt was held last Thursday. It was fantastic to see the hats that the children had made in class. Family members enjoyed joining in with the games and Easter egg hunt.

Wangarang opening of the bulk Return and Earn

Some of our leaders attended the opening with Mrs Hodder and me. Blake, Dylan and Zane were interested in seeing the process of recycling.
