From the Principal

Hello everyone

I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter long weekend and that not too much chocolate was consumed.

As another term draws to a close, I wanted to sum up this very busy term by thanking you for working with us to ensure that your child/ward is at school each day. Approximately 60 of our students will be joining me for a special event next Friday to celebrate more than 98% attendance for the term. Congratulations to all the students who will receive a letter home, a certificate at school, and morning tea.

Congratulations to Mrs Billie-Jo Rutten who was successful in gaining permanency as a teacher at our school through the merit selection process. I am delighted to have Mrs Rutten as a member of our staff as she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as natural exuberance and love for our school. Further congratulations are extended to Ms Jodie Pritchard, who was successfully accepted into the Senior Leadership - Aspiring Principals Leadership Program (SL-APLP).  This is a highly contested program, so we are very proud of our Deputy Principal.

Recently we needed to use the Defib machine bought by the P&C and donated to the school. The incident was not on our site, but was used in a life-saving event close by. I had hoped that we would never need to use it, but I feel grateful that we did have the machine on hand. Again, I thank the P&C for their practical and useful donation.

The P&C recently raised $172.20 at the St Patrick's Day stall and leftover cakes were donated to the Police, Ambulance, and Mr Gee MP's office. We would love to see more members of our school community join the P&C as more hands make light work. Thank you for the donations and to the volunteers who helped on the day.

I was excited to see our school highlighted in the NSW Department of Education Secretary's newsletter to acknowledge World Autism Awareness Day last Tuesday.

The cold weather has started, so please ensure that your child/ward is dressed appropriately for the weather. If you need support with uniforms for your child, please contact the school for a confidential discussion.

Wishing everyone a great Term break.
