Learning, growing and celebrating together...

Dear Sacred Heart Kew Families,

The end of Term 1, 2024. Is it just me or does it feel like we only just started back at school? SO many achievements, much to be proud of and be grateful for.

In no particular order, we have navigated and celebrated the following this term…

  • Settling into new routines and classroom settings
  • Correctly placing our school bag in the right place - not in last years location
  • Meeting and getting to know Father Trevor (and his skateboard)
  • Realising that the staff member dressed in a ‘high vis’ fluro vest is the go to person if injured or unsure of anything out in the school yard (not just there to brighten up the environment or pretend they're a Block Tradie)
  • Full weeks of school for our Prep children
  • Meeting new people at Interschool sports
  • Generously donating to Caritas and the Toy drive throughout our Lenten program, and eating copious amounts of delicious hot cross buns in the playground!
  • Welcoming new children and families to our school
  • Kinder visits - working out that not everyone in Kew knows Sacred Heart Kew
  • School Tours led by our wonderful and honest Year 6 School Leaders
  • Fully booking out the new Instrumental Music program - so many budding musicians
  • Scraped knees, head knocks, teeth lost and nits found
  • NAPLAN ticked off
  • Quality buddy time between old and new children
  • Weeding and Running around the school oval (not at the same time)
  • Eating ice cream from a van on the Basketball Court at the Welcome Picnic
  • Learning how to be safe online and what age you actually have to be on various social media platforms
  • Swimming like a fish at District, Division and even Regional events
  • Becoming knowledgeable First Aider’s, thanks St John’s
  • Dressing in our finest cultural attire, celebrating our family heritage (with pizza)
  • Leading reverent and respectful Holy Week paraliturgies
  • Pumping those arms and legs, running our little hearts out at our annual Sports Day

Such excitement - no wonder we all need a break! Well done to all school community members on a successful Term One, 2024. We’ve ALL finally made it.

Wishing all families a blessed Holy Week and Easter celebration together with friends and family when the time arrives. See you all again on Monday 15 April.

Kind Regards,
