Happy and Holy Easter

As we come to the end of Term 1, 2024 we have a lot to be thankful for. Our Foundation students have settled in well into school life at St Francis de Sales and it is great to see the learning progress that all Foundation to Year 6 children are making. Congratulations to our students for a great start to 2024. We hope that Parent/Teacher interviews held on Thursday will build and deepen our home school partnership as we work together on learning goals that support your child's next steps.

It has been an exciting term of community building from our Twilight Picnic in week 1 to our Colour explosion to finish the term. We have had many great events from our Twilight Sports to celebrating the Reconciliation of our Year 3 students to special days like Harmony Day and St Patrick's Day. A BIG thanks to our marvelous Parents & Friends Committee for their support in countless ways. We really appreciate everything you do.

A BIG thank you to all our staff for all your work to improve learning opportunities for our children and for making our school a great place to be. We wish you a very Happy and safe Easter. As we begin Holy Week may the light of Christ surround you and bless you and your family this Easter. Let us be the light of Christ in our family and community as reach out to others in compassion and love to others this year.

Jesus, Remember Me

On Thursday the entire school gathered in the hall to remember and to pray.

We remembered  Jesus' last days as each home group in a most reverent way participated in the Passion of our Lord. The Passion was the final period of Christ’s life in Jerusalem, which spans from when He arrived in Jerusalem, to when He was crucified.

The Passion was depicted in a very moving and prayerful way. Each Home Group acted a part of the Passion. In between each station the choir sang the Taizé.

Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

I commend each Home Group and their teacher on the way each child participated. There was a seamless transition between each station and it was a very special prayerful experience for all who gathered. The entire staff collaborated together to make this a memorable and extra special whole school event. Special thanks goes to Tanya Petersen for coordinating the service and to Rachel Lenko and Nicole Parnell for leading and preparing the school choir. The children sang beautifully. It was wonderful to have parents join us for this school gathering.

We will gather together at the start of Term 2 when we will celebrate the risen Lord with an Easter prayer service.

Cross Country

The term has ended  with our Annual Cross Country races. All our children have participated and earned points for their teams. The winners of each event (See the Learning & Teaching section) have been presented with a trophy and over the holidays will have their names added to these special trophies that go on display in our school foyer. We congratulate them for their great achievement. Senior students who have participated and placed will go on to represent our school in the Regional Cross country events next term.

Colour Explosion

The weather was perfect and after the races the oval erupted in an explosion of colour as pink, yellow, blue , green, purple and red clouds of colour rose into the air in a rainbow kaleidoscope. It was great to get coloured fairy dust land in all kinds of spatters on bodies and on clothes. (lucky it is easy to wash clean) There was great excitement and joy. Thanks to our P&F!!!

This was a MASSIVE fundraisers and air-conditioning is definitely on its way as we get closer to our target!!. I thank all those who got sponsors for the event and helped raise alot of money.

The Principal got SLIMED!!!

We gathered as a school community to end the term with an EXTRA special event!! Yes, as a result of passing $16 000 not only did 11 teachers get slimed BUT..... so did the PRINCIPAL!!!! What an end to the term!!!

Applications for 2025 are due now.

Interviews for new families wishing to commence school at St Francis de Sales in 2025  will commence in April.

Please inform neighbours and friends who will have a child eligible to start school in 2025 to book a tour. We have tours nearly every morning at 9 am.

Help promote our school and share stories of the great learning and extra curricula opportunities we provide.

Word of mouth stories about our great school community is the BEST promotion.
