ARTS FESTIVAL NIGHT

Wow! What a brilliant night! It was a fantastic school community event. 😊

Thank you all for attending this great night of fun and creativity. I hope you enjoyed all of the great activities. Without you we wouldn’t have an Arts Festival night!

I would like to thank our special guests for supporting our event with knowledge and expertise - Tash Nepean, Tayla Wakely and Sarah Wilson from Winda-Mara.

We are very grateful for these ladies volunteering their time to make our Arts night even better!

I would also like to thank Mr Kelson for his support of the Arts program, and ALL of the teachers who have facilitated the activities tonight.

Thanks to everyone who has donated material for weaving and the items for the nature mandalas. Also to Dawn Stubbs, James Stubbs and Mrs Brabham for the use of the “Alice in Wonderland” props.

Cavendish Red-Gum Festival

We have over 200 entries in the student gallery this year! The Cavendish Redgum festival is on Sat 13th and Sun 14th April. It’s going to be a great weekend with lots of brilliant activities and a wonderful gallery of 2D and 3D artworks.

It is the last weekend of the school holidays, so would be great if families can pop out to Cavendish and have a look at our student’s artwork. Prizes will be awarded for the different age groups by the festival committee.

Students continued their biological sciences unit in STEM this week.

Preps continued looking at the needs of a plant. They got to see their grass seeds growth that they planted last week and discussed what would happen if their needs were not met.

Grade 1/2 explored features of animals and had to make animals out of playdoh and discussed its features.

Grade 3/4 explored the impact of human activity on the Daintree Rainforest.

Grade 5/6 created a quiz to demonstrate their learning in STEM this term on biomes.

Well done to Henry Broad and Lucas Trimnell for receiving STEM certificates this week.
