K/1

This week in Maths, K/1 have been exploring 2D shapes and their attributes. We have been learning to identify examples/non-examples of 2D shapes, describe them and find attributes that they can have in common, such as corners, sides, and angles.

In these photos, we looked for 2D shapes within artworks. We also looked for non-examples by describing them as open shapes (lines)  and recognisable shapes as closed shapes.

These Write and Wipe sleeves, which the artworks are in, are a fantastic resource, as they allow the children to make errors and adjust their learning quickly and easily. They also help us to save on photocopying!

It has been a very busy two weeks in our classroom. Thank you parents for visiting us during our Open Classrooms morning last week. The Tumbarumba Show kept us busily creating at school and at home too. It’s a lovely, community event to be a part of. This week saw Kinder’s first Cross Country Carnival and next week is their first Athletics Carnival. What big milestones they are!
