Year 3 Scienceworks Excursion
On Wednesday, the grade 3s went to Scienceworks. At Scienceworks, my favourite thing was the Blast Off room. We learnt how rockets fly to space. We also learnt how the people live and sleep in space. Did you know that Mars is actually cold? Most people think that Mars is hot! Icy, Khenrab, Sophia & Joseph helped the instructor demonstrate how a rocket launches and Ms. G and Ms. Komp helped the instructor demonstrate how the Earth and Mars orbit the sun.

At our excursion called Scienceworks, my favourite part was when we could relax and look around big rooms. One of the rooms was called ‘Sportsworks’ and it had a short track where we could run, as well as a place where we could test our bodies. We tested how hard we could pull, how high we could jump and how much we weighed. In another room called Beyond Perception, there was a mini mirror maze just made for kids. We kept bumping into mirrors, but it was pretty funny! There were also so many couches, so we jumped on and relaxed after the longest day.

At Scienceworks, my favourite part was when we used the Mbots for coding! It was really fun. The instructor talked to us about using an algorithm and codes to make our robot move. An algorithm is just a set of instructions that a robot needs to move. Me and my partner took turns programming the Mbots. The Mbots looked like little robot cars and had sensors. I made my Mbot spin in circles and light up! Did you know that robots are a bit like humans? I hope you enjoyed our speech and thank you for listening.

Learning with Other Countries
Who we went with. We went with 1s and 2s. First, we saw her do an Indian dance. Then we went on a magical carpet. Next, we had a dance battle with the girls and boys. The girls won! Finally, we did a Italian dance and the dance was the chicken dance! I felt AMAZING!

Learning Three Different Countries
In DPW we had an incursion. Who was there? A teacher was there and 1/2s were there too. When? On Thursday 13th. What we were doing. We were sitting on a sparkly mat and we learnt about 3 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES! The first country isssss INDIA. The next country issss ITALY. The final country issss Australia Aboriginal. First, I was so amazed from the zip! Zap yellow wings. Next, I was so funny from the chicken dance. Finally, we were split into boys and girls and the teacher picked the girls. I felt thrilled!

Learning About Dances
On Thursday we learned about three dances from other countries. We did it in the gym with the grade ones and twos. First, we learned about the Indian dance when she wore a golden wing. Next, we learned about Italy’s dance. Italy’s dance wasss the CHICKEN DANCE. The chicken dance was very fun. Finally, we did a boy verse girl and the girls won. I felt happy!
