Reminder: Curriculum Day

Just a quick reminder that the kinder will be closed on Wednesday 26th June for a Curriculum Day.

The teachers are eligible to take two days throughout the year to be able to meet as a team and focus on an area of professional development.  The other curriculum day the team will be taking will be on Monday November 4th.

For the Curriculum Day on the 26th of June the staff will be participating in a full day of professional development. We are using our School Readiness Funding to learn about Trauma Informed Practices and Attachment Theory with psychoanalytic psychiatrist and consultant Therese Raulin. We are looking forward to doing this learning all together as a team and implementing what we learn.

3 YO Wild Xposure Wildlife Incursion

The 3YO’s had their wildlife incursion last week, and they had SO much fun!! It was so beautiful to watch their excited faces as the animals were brought out to visit them.  They were so engaged in every aspect and many of them were able to tell us some facts they remembered being told about the animals.  They were all incredibly brave and got to touch all the animals.

Mid-Year Summative Assessments / Developmental Checklists

At the mid-point in the year the teachers will provide to all parents a summative assessment of how your child is progressing within the Kinder Program and developmentally.

Our Bachelor trained teachers are highly experienced and knowledgeable in child development.  It is important to understand that every child develops at their own pace, however there are general guides on what we should expect at each age range.  So, the teachers will combine both their knowledge of child development and of your unique child, that they have now built strong connections with to establish how they are progressing and set goals for the second half of the year.

Once you have read your child’s Mid-Year Summative Assessment, if there is anything you would like further information on please do not hesitate to make a time to chat with your child’s teacher.

Term 3 Event

We are super excited to announce that next term we will be holding a ....

ROCK'N' SOUP NIGHT

This will be an exciting night to come along to Kinder and enjoy some beautifully made  soup by your child's group AND decorate a family rock to place in our kinder garden.  Our rocks will brighten up are outdoor space and create great talking pieces for the children to share with their friends and teachers.

There will be more information sent home next term, but for now SAVE THE DATE:

Wattle and Waratah night - Wednesday 11th September

Banksia and Lasiandra night - Tuesday 17th September

Staff Carpark

A quick reminder to all as we battle the cold and wet weather. Please do not enter or park in the staff car park at any time, particularly 'before' or 'after' school/kinder. This is especially important to note on wet weather days.

The main reasons are:

- for safety: to ensure both students and staff are safe

- due to staff needing to leave and return to the carpark at certain times to attend meetings.

To assist with this and most importantly support the safety procedures, can you please update any parent, grandparent or carers who are 'dropping off' or 'collecting' your children.
