School Athletics Carnival

St Mary's held our Athletics Carnival on Monday 27th May at O'Connor. Congratulations to all students who competed throughout the carnival. A special thank you to all of the parents who assisted with different jobs on the day and to the P&F for the BBQ throughout the day.

Athletics Carnival Overall Champion

Congratulations to Ursula for taking out the House Shield for the Athletics Carnival.

Polding Hockey 

Well done to Molly and Sophie Schmude who represented the Armidale Region at Polding at the NSWPSSA Hockey Carnival in Newcastle. Congratulations to Molly Schmude for making it through to the NSW state team and will compete at Nationals in Cairns later in the year. The Armidale team also won the Gold Medal match at Polding.

 

Armidale Interschool chess competition

St Mary's students competed this week in the annual Armidale Interschool Chess Competition against other local schools. During the day students competed as teams of four in a round robin competition. Students competed well, showed great sportsmanship and learned valuable skills and strategies for playing chess. Congratulations to the St Mary's team of Lex Cabang, Dean Repp, Isaac Riches and Darcy Stibbard who came 3rd overall in the teams competition. 

Diocesan Rugby Trials

Five Year 6 boys competed last Friday at the Diocesan Rugby trials. Unfortunately none of the boys qualified for Polding but should be commended for their effort.
