Learning Community 2

We can't believe it's Term 3 already! 

We hope everyone had a restful holiday - we're ready to go for Semester 2!

At the end of Term 2 we had a wonderful sharing session with the 5/6 Team where we looked at each others Poetry Anthologies. 

It was lovely to see the creations we had all made. 

This term we have begun work on a book study in Reading - we are looking into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All our learning will be based around this text and these characters. 

We have started by activating our prior knowledge of the text, making some predictions about what the characters might be like, and visualising Mr Willy Wonka. 

In Maths we are revising Place Value and the connection between addition and subtraction. We have practised making fact families and finding missing numbers in equations. 

We have started learning about autobiographies and biographies in Writing. We have thought about and planned our autobiographies to begin writing. 

Finally, our Integrated Studies topic this term is the Olympics! Our first lesson was learning about the Ancient Olympics, the Olympic Flag and the Olympic Torch and torch relay. 

We used the number 5 (for the 5 continents athletes come from) and the colours blue, green, black, red and yellow to reimagine and create our own flag! Have a look.
