Welcome back to school everybody. I hope you had a restful, fun filled holiday with your gorgeous children. Unfortunately the week did not get off to a great start due to the flood waters in the Library building and our classroom. Thank you to everyone who helped move a huge amount of teaching resources to room 4.

Thank you to Mrs Howard who organised the NAIDOC activities this week. The students have loved learning about Indigenous Australians and NAIDOC Week. We eased back into learning this week, revising content learnt in Term 2. Friday we had a lot of fun celebrating 100 days of school, enjoying activities with a '100' theme.

We loved seeing the kinder students from Birches this week. We showed them the playgrounds, chooks and enjoyed lunch together.

A reminder to return the swimming forms and book your spot for parent teacher conversations. A reminder that Friday 30th of August we will be celebrating Father's Day in room 4. Please ensure you show the office your current working with children's check before coming into our classroom. Please ensure your child has a special person to join in the activities with the students.

Student Of The Week

Congratulations to Archie who was voted to be this week's Student Of The Week. Students voted for Archie because they said he was an excellent role model for all of the students. He is respectful, responsible and resilient, showing our school values.

1 - Mr Wigg

Welcome back everyone. What a week we have had to returning back to school with the flood waters that affected our classroom. A huge thank you to the families who supported us in setting up our temporary classroom and moving furniture for students.

This week we have eased back into learning with revision of features of a fictional text and narratives. Students have also enjoyed playing addition games.

Just a friendly reminder that swimming forms a due back and students who have bought their diary have received their new spelling words which are located inside. Please practise these where possible as students will be tested on their words each Monday.

With Parent Teacher conferences happening this term, if you would like to book one, please do so on Compass.

Student of the Week:

Congratulations to Steven for achieving our Student of the week at the end of last Term.

Curriculum

Welcome to Term 3! We're halfway through the year, how fast has that gone so far!

We have had a bit of a topsy turvy week with our BER building and classroom flooding. Our students have been so incredibly resilient whist we navigate what this will look like for our class, the ones and the preps. We have spent most of this week in the science room however will be moving into room 2 as of next week. We have explored and learnt so much about NAIDOC week and the Olympics this week. NAIDOC week has seen us creating (pretend) campfires and our own Indigenous symbols to place around them, we have listened to an incredible speech and presentation by Mrs Maree (our favourite art teacher). Students also listened to and watched a didgeridoo presentation and educational videos and podcasts. We will continue to learn about the Olympics and then the Para Olympics in the coming weeks.

A note from Miss Stoll

Hello parents and families,

I hope you had a great break. Parent Teacher Conversations are coming up in the first couple of weeks of Term 3, don't forget to book your session if you haven't already. This can be done on compass. I'm looking forward to settling back into our classroom routine and I can't wait to see what we will acheive this term :)

Thank-you, Kate Stoll.
